The “Others” Party (Caucus) Manifesto

The government of the United States should serve all the people.

Unfortunately, the government of the United States does not serve all the people.

Instead, the government of the United States serves a “select few.”

The people who are not served are all the “others.”

Very importantly, this has nothing to do with existing parties.

The “select few” can be broken down into three categories:

· At the top are the elected officials, whether they be Democrats, Republicans, Independents (simply stated – all of them).  The trait that unifies this group is that they are all “politicians.” Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, George H. W. and George W. Bush, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren … the list goes on and on.

· In the middle are the people who implement the politicians’ directives. The trait that unifies this group is that they are all “operatives.” Politicians’ families and staff members, consultants, lobbyists, union leaders, chamber of commerce members, government contractors … once again, the list goes on and on.

· At the bottom are the government employees hired as part of the “bloated bureaucracy” created by the politicians. For example, the 2+ million federal employees. People who, once hired, remain “embedded” in the federal government – regardless of who is in power.

The “others” are everyone else. People who are employed, work hard, pay Social Security and Medicare taxes, while struggling to secure (and pay for) medical care for themselves and their families, let alone to put food on their table and pay their bills – people who live with the reality that they could be laid off at any time.

The easiest way to ascertain whether a person is a member of the “select few” or one of the “others” is to ask whether the person is at risk of going without a paycheck, going without benefits, without health care. Simply stated, members of the “select few” never find themselves in such a dire situation! That potential calamity can only befall the “others.”

The “select few” tell the “others” elections matter. But that is a fraud. Nothing changes. The “select few” remain part of their elite group. They merely change seats.  The “select few” who lose elections merely become “operatives” or part of the “bloated bureaucracy.”

The situation is best illustrated with a metaphor. The “select few” are all pigs who eat from the same trough. All that changes because of elections is who gets to eat first.

All that elections do is give the “others” the impression that they have some control over their government – but that is a lie.

What is particularly problematic is how the “select few” use any crisis to enhance their position, namely, to enlarge the “bloated bureaucracy.” A notorious (and that word is used advisedly) member of the “select few” once had the temerity to infamously advise colleagues: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.”

The "select few" have become a cabal.  To expose and eradicate this cabal - we "others" must join together, initially as a caucus welcoming people regardless of their party registration (R, D or I).  Ultimately, the hope is that we can create a new party - the "Others Party" - welcoming all who share our perspective.
